Rab ROBERT ON SUNDAY, RAB ON OTHERS

Rab trained as a traditional bookbinder with The National Trust for Scotland in Edinburgh where he spent many years learning his craft.

Minimal intervention is key to Rab's ethos when restoring your valuable and sentimental volumes.

"Every book has its own personality and therefore each must be approached individually so that it retains its original character"

Rab is considered an expert in Ladybird books and published the definitive guide to Ladybird books in 2005, as an e-book, selling more than 10,000 copies. He has also contributed to Millers Collectibles guide (2007) and done several interviews for the media regarding Ladybird books. He created and ran The Wee Web, a well-known website dedicated to Ladybird books, with links from the BBC and Ladybird publishers themselves.

Rab's knowledge extends well beyond ladybird books. He has a keen interest and wide knowledge regarding illustrated children's books, and has a passion for well-illustrated natural history books.

BASIL ON SUNDAY, BAZ ON OTHERS

Baz has trained, and worked, as a bookbinder under his father’s guidance for the last 10 years.

He has developed a real aptitude for the craft and produces some stunning bindings with spectacular onlays for his fine bindings.

Some of his work has sold to members of the PBFA and to private book collectors around the world.

Baz

Baz is a very talented artist which can be seen in his binding work. He has an incredible eye for detail and uses the tiniest pieces of leather to create truly beautiful works.

See some of his work >

Baz, like his father, is a keen music lover and if you're lucky enough you might hear either of them playing guitar between jobs. Feel free to join in . . and dancing is definitely allowed!!
